Guest JIMSTDI Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 it would sound like the module playing uphad the same thing happing on a sierra with aws moduleshame you cant just try one,to see if its that ot not jamesgood luck anyway Quote
Guest nimrod Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Check to operation of the door switches and the wireing to them, do they still have their protective rubber boots on? the door switches are two gang switches, they do both the door ajar warning and the courtesy lights, try replacing the switches and see how you get on? Guest dmc Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 door swithes are all fine.i am pretty sure its a module fault.any other opinions? Quote
NikpV Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 im sure i read somewhere on this board that someone had the module replaced, but i cant find that post. We had the same on our Gal until they switched the instrument pod (for other reasons) the new version corrected this - They also checked door switches etc but they were fine. Garage said it was a known fault on early facelift versions, turns out our instrument module was earlier than the car !! itself. Original post (I think) - see starts here I Think this is the one about incorrect door identification Here Quote
jb8306 Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I had this fault on my 2001 Galaxy, the only fix for it is to replace the instrument cluster complete. You cannot just change the information module. Quote
Guest dmc Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Thanks for the replies.........very helpful! i will investigate the cluster then. Quote
